We trace the journey of the bean from its historical origins through to modern cultivation and processing, providing essential context for how coffee is produced and traded globally. This course serves as a foundational roadmap, introducing the key concepts of roasting, sensory assessment, and preparation that define the specialty market.
The curriculum is built around a series of guided tasting exercises designed to deepen your understanding of the value chain's impact on the final cup. By evaluating different profiles, you will see firsthand how decisions made at the farm, the roastery, and the brew bar directly influence flavour, body, and quality. This course equips you with the fundamental vocabulary and conceptual framework necessary to navigate the complexities of the coffee industry with confidence.
